We will have this same dilemma for-ever.  We love to go up to the cottage on Labor Day weekend.  And, it's Caleb's birthday September 1.  So, this year we opted to just celebrate there.   We had a extra special treat this year:  Aunt Kimmy got to spend the weekend with us.  We had such a relaxing weekend doing our normal things: golf-cart rides, bonfires, dunes, fishing, and boat rides.  We are definitely blessed. 

I can't believe that 3 years ago we left this guy in the hospital for 10 extra days to recover from pneumonia.  From day one until now, Caleb's huge personality keeps us on our toes.  We love you, buddy.  Please stop growing up now.

Following the Baby Shower and Backyard BBQ, we headed up to the cottage for a few nights.  Despite the heat wave, we had a great time.  I would advise not sleeping upstairs on the top bunk during record breaking temps.  Thankfully, we have plenty of places to cool off.

Trav & Morgane's Baby Shower

A long time ago we planned for Travis & Morgane to come home to celebrate my parent's 40th wedding anniversary.  A few weeks prior we pulled a 180 on them.  We twisted the Anniversary celebration into a surprise Couples Baby Shower for the parents-to-be.  We had a great time celebrating with family and friends.  One highlight was the food!  My Dad hired some guys he works with to come cook.  Smoked chicken, fajitas, grilled corn, fresh pico, etc....I bet your mouth is watering.

Great Wolf Lodge

We got to spend 3 nights at Great Wolf Lodge this past week.  I'm tired!  It was a ton of fun and even better that Grandma had a conference there, so we got to tag along.  Grandpa surprised us {kind of} on Thursday night.  We had lots of fun breaking Grandpa in on our speed night of the water park.  We'll have memories for a lifetime of the fun we had.  I'm really disappointed that I didn't get a picture of Grandpa and Grandma coming down the water slides.  

Here is some helpful information for visiting with little ones to Great Wolf:  They have plenty of excellent life jackets available, the children can easily split the kid's meal at the Critter Grille, the on-site pizza is excellent and can be delivered to your room, don't force naps, bring a grandparent along so you can escape the madness when the little ones go to bed, and you go faster down the body water slide when you lay down!
